Healthy Hearts Plus II is helping black women prevent cancer. The number one way is raising awareness among the 22,000 black women give birth in Virginia every year,


Cancer is Mostly Preventable. Stress is huge risk factor.

Breastfeeding is Our # 1 Strategy for Preventing Cancer. Women benefit and society does too. According to the US Office of Women's Health, society benefits overall when mothers breastfeed.

  • Breastfeeding saves lives. Research shows that if 90% of families breastfed exclusively for six months, nearly 1,000 deaths among infants could be prevented each year.5We have the evidence, that providing

  • recommended care for mental health

Breastfeeding saves money. Medical costs may be lower for fully breastfed infants than never-breastfed infants. Think of it fewer sick care visits, prescriptions, and hospitalizations.
